Hi friends,
I'm sorry if this is the wrong section.
I got my Geforce 780 GTX Classified (03G-P4-3788-KR) RMA'ed - and looks like they are sending me a Geforce 970 FTW ACX 2.0 (04G-P4-2978-KR) in return.
Looking at the specs for each - it looks like some of the specs on my 780 GTX is a bit better than the 970?
EG:
970 780
Memory Interface: 256-Bit 384-Bit
CUDA 1664 2304
Memory Bandwidth 224.3 GB/s 288.38 GB/s
I understand that other specs do beat it:
970 780
GPU Speed 1216MHz 993MHz
RAM 4096 3072
RAM Type GDDR5 GDDR5
RAM Speed 7010MHz (effective) 6008MHz (effective)
but I honestly have no idea about the 900 card series and what's so great about them so I'm wondering if the 970 will be better than my 780.
Also I do understand that I paid $700 for it back in the day and the 970 is only $370 or so, but I know that price doesn't matter as when it comes to these as price depreciates.
Should I try to sell my 970 that I'm about to receive and get a 980? If so which model?
Here are the rest of my specs:
Processor:
Intel Core i7-4930K CPU @ 4.00GHz (12 Threads)
Memory:
Kingston Beast Series 32GB DDR3-2400 9-9-9
Sound Card:
Auzentech X-Fi Forte 7.1 Low Profile PCI-E
Operating System:
Windows 8.1 Enterprise 64-bit
Motherboard:
Asus Rampage IV Black Edition E-ATX
Computer Case:
Thermaltake Level 10 GT Black E-ATX
Water Cooling:
Corsair Cooling Hydro Series H105
Thank you.
