I have a Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 graphics card (OC Edition).
So occasionally I check for updates for my computer through windows update and I came across an optional update published today which is titled "Advanced Micro Devices, Inc - Other Hardware - AMD SMBus."
It has a size of 30 KB and under the title it reads: "Advanced Micro Devices, Inc Other hardware software update released in January, 2015."
So it was released in January, 2015 but published today which is weird.
I was wondering if this is a display driver update which I do not want to download from windows update because I do it through the AMD website.
Also if not, should I install it, will it give me improved performance in gaming, etc? I'm generally OCD about these kinds of things and always like to keep my computer updated and not leave an update behind.
Thanks.
