It can do video and photo editing.
But if you are going to edit high resolution videos or work with huge photos it won't be really smooth.
Consider upgrading to a 8350 for the extra cores.

You can edit them, but high resolution video editing needs loads of resources so it might be a bit slow with a fx-6300. The FX-6300 is a cheap entry CPU, so it won't be really fast for editing, that doesn't mean it won't work, it just means it will take longer to do things.

There is no max resolution for your editing, but the bigger the resolution, the longer it will take your CPU to process the video.
