Getting random lines and blocks on the bios and startup screen after BSoD.

I got a BSoD while I was gaming yesterday and just before it I got a screen like the ones we had on old consoles (the ones like when the card couldn't be read on the Atari console). Anyway, after the BSoD, the card is now 16 color and it can only give 320*240 screen, also it will make the same screen lines and blocks while in bios or startup.

Is my GPU dead, is there a way to save it?

(GPU in question is an ASUS NVidia GTX 560)
PS. The GPU is almost 5 years old and it has been in constant use so a breakdown situation is not out of the question. I'd like to save it if I can though.

Solution
Even before you said the card is now only 16 color and 320*240, I knew the card was dead. Sorry to say, but based on the information provided I would say it's time for a new card....GTX 970 maybe?

Thanks for the answers, I don't think I'll be doing any fixes to the card. I might have some luck selling it for parts on the 2nd hand dealers, I guess. Cards are much more expensive here so, I think I'll be getting a 960 for now and maybe another one to SLI with later on.
