Brother Printer Issues

I have a Brother MFC-L2007DW and I have it set up on a wired network. I am unable to get it to print with a Windows 8.1 computer, it keeps showing the printer offline. I have checked my network and the printer is showing up in the network however it is not showing up in the device manager. I have reinstalled all of the software (drivers included) and I still am unable to print.

"MFC-L2007DW" ??

I can't find any references to such a model - - check the model number again - - do you mean MFC-L2700DW?

Uninstall existing Brother software & driver, then try latest Windows 8.1 driver from here:
http://support.brother.com/g/b/downloadtop.aspx?c=us_ot&lang=en&prod=mfcl2700dw_us_eu_as

Be sure to install the printer as though you were installing it for the first time (as per the Brother setup instructions supplied with the printer). Failure to follow those installation steps in the correct order will lead to improper or incomplete installation of the driver package.

I just solved the printer issue. The problem was that a new TCP/IP port had to be created for the printer to connect with the computer. I still have not learned why this was not part of the software install, and this issue would probably be over the head of anyone just trying to set up a new printer with no other networking knowledge. The fix was something I found digging around on a help site and not something that Brother provided when I contacted their support team.

Gentleman Jim :

Are you able to SCAN with this printer? I have the same model on Windows 7 64-bit. I can print but cannot SCAN; windows does not display the printer under Scanners and Cameras, and Brother says this is a TWAIN driver issue that Microsoft needs to fix but I cannot seem to get any answers (that work) that allow me to fix this...Thoughts?

I have not attempted to scan however I think those features are working since I updated the port.
