Camps, I'm going to be completely honest with you: Don't bother upgrading from your 780 Ti SLI unless you plan on moving up to 980 Ti SLI. Since my proposed recommendation would cost you $1,300, I suggest that you stay at your current setup unless you have extra cash lying around.

Off subject: I really like and respect your setup. I think you're good.

there is no guard against the future.. i am sticking with my EVGA 780ti's in SLI. i have similar specs and am waiting for DX12. guru3d link that i will provide on new DX12 API shows stacking of VRAM meaning we will have 6gb of useable vram because of spit frame rendering(instead of alternate) and greater cpu core spreading the load , as well as the DX12 api will see the two gpu's as one large gpu instead of two. i would love to first see if that 4790k we both have will be greater utilized and if increasing FPS from the split frame rendering will make as much as a difference as stated in the article before i speand any money.

780 TI in SLI is 20% more powerful than single 980 TI. Also, newest drivers are updated. They increase performance of Kepler GPU. I'm getting 45-50 FPS on Witcher 3 on 4K so 3 way SLI would do you good, but I'm not yet sure. If corndog1836 says that the VRAM will be stacked then hells yeah, 780 TI FTW.

I myself want to go with 3 way 780 TI SLI. I will get some performance boost and it will cost me less. Not to mention 780 TI in SLI are 20% stronger than single 980 TI so yeah unless you gonna sli 980 TI then it's definitely not worth it.

If the OP sells his cards he depending on the game he will have similar FPS, lower frame time latency, double the vram and all the benifits of the new maxwell architecture. " the gaming experience will be better and then getting another 980 ti is an option down the road"

Stay with the 780ti'sin sli then when next gpu after 980ti comes out you should get that, then sli those two. Thats what i learned in all my years of doing this and asking questions on this forum for a while.its a normal progressive upgrading process. We have similar builds.

Can you support your statement that 780 ti is 20% faster in the latest titles?
