I have been doing extensive research to build a really good gaming pc without spending $2000.
I probably have spent more time on researching for this than studying for exams! Oh well. I have gone over every part of the pc. I first wanted Intel then AMD now back to Intel. I first wanted 2 cheaper GPUs for SLI but now I just want 1 mid to high range GPU. These are the parts i have picked out so far -

So my question is - Should I get the Asus, Gigabyte, MSI, or EVGA version of the GeForce GTX 970 4G (3.5G)? Would it be wise to go with the MSI because I have an MSI board? Or does that not matter. Any answer is appreciated. Also, do you think I would be able to OC my CPU with this Mobo and setup?
Any tips on the rest of my build are also most appreciated.

I would go with the MSI as it will match the mobo, but from vendor to vendor the cards are still the same. What changes is the warranties and the coolers. I used to use that same cpu and cooler, I was able to get the card up to 4.3 GHz and that was because I did not want to mess with the voltages, so yes you will be able to overclock with that setup very easily.
