Ok,I know there are other similar threads to mine, but I really need to discuss this through with some people..I have my laptop for 2.5 years now,I use it mostly for games (medium requirement games) and until now I had no problem running games like Assassin's Creed 3,Borderlands 2,Hitman Absolution,Arkham City,FIFA games etc in medium graphics..In general any game before 2013 ran fine and smoothly on my rig..Just about a week ago it started lagging all games after 5-10 minutes of gameplay to the point of unplayable. It ALSO gave me an indication that my windows are not genuine (out of nowhere and I don't know if it has smth to do with the particular problem)..I altered some memories and performance settings here and there but the lag does not go away and I am experiencing overheating too.I had the HDD changed a year ago..If anyone could help I would be much obliged.Thank you in advance :) :)

Solution
Lag generally occurs when the laptop run hot. You will need to see why it is running hot to prevent damage. To answer the question, Is it possible that dust can slow down the performance of a laptop after 1 year, the answer is yes. If you have a weak cooling system, then all components start to slow down. This explains the sudden slow down in games.

Thank you for the reply and sorry if I posted that on the wrong section (I am new to the forum)..I had it cleaned a year ago and changed the HDD as I mentioned(a technician did the job).Is it possible after 1 single year to lag the games so much due to dust etc in its interior?I mean,is it reasonable dirt to cause overheating and lag and performance issues with a 1 year old Hard Disk and 1 year old mentainance?I messed up some memory and performance settings, maybe someone can help me restore them or something?
