Hi - I have a GTX 780 3gb ACX card; want to get the best display it will run. Would love a 1440p monitor w/ high refresh rate, but unsure how well it would support.

  • - Mostly game ESO, Star Citizen, Eve, and Homeworld. May RPGs. No FPSs really.
    - Definitely don't want to be sitting there thinking "I need a new GPU," but I'm not a stickler for framerates (assuming 60+ is fine).
    - Assuming I could run 2 monitors, but only 1 would be used to run game.
    - Could overclock a bit I guess. The rest of the rig is pretty solid.

Alternatively, I'd run SLI if possible, but I only have Corsair TX 750W. I've heard it might support GTX 980s SLI... but would it really give me much of a boost in 1440p? I've heard it can't do 4k

Any type of input appreciated, I have NO IDEA.

You could do it but you wouldn't be able to play with settings maxed out. I have the ASUS PG278Q ROG Swift http://www.amazon.com/PG278Q-27-Inch-Screen-LED... with SLI GTX 970's and I can't push over 100fps in many newer games with the settings maxed out.

I did have SLI 980's before saving some cash and going with 970's. A pair of 980's should easily do the games you want to play maxed out with nice frames. 4GB VRAM is just enough for 1440p but not enough for 4K.

Thanks, very helpful! I decided to for the BenQ GW Series GW2765HT. Figured it was worth it for the internate use... if it doesn't game well I'll go GTX 980sli. I hope the 750W Corsair TX can keep up with it.

Any idea how [strike]980 [/strike]960 sli could handle the consumer version of Oculus Rift when it comes out?
