Is upgrading my RAM will reduce lag?

So here, my laptop has 2gb of RAM, and while playing some good games (CoD 4, CS:GO) i got a range of 10-15 fps. Yeah i know that sound reaaaallly sucks, but it's just for the meantime cause i'll buy a gaming desktop once i've got enough money. I just wanna know if upgrading it to 8gb (that's what my mobo can handle) will somehow gives me a smoother gameplay. Well, im not expecting from a really boost in the fps, just a playable frame rates will do. Thank you in advance!

Wow, that is a very old config.
I stand by my answer. You won't see much improvement with FPS for those games just by upgrading the RAM.

Since the games you mentioned are okay with 2 gigs, I don't think upgrading would do you any good. It'll speed up your load times maybe, but I doubt it'll help with your FPS.
Better save that money and invest on the gaming desktop you spoke of.
