Hi,

There's a difference between "full support" and just "support" of DX12.

There are different levels of support. For example, DX12.1 lists features that DX12.0 does not have. It's worth noting that I believe the new GTX980Ti supports DX12.2.

*It's not that big of a deal likely for a few reasons:
1) Game developers code for the COMMON denominator usually so the unsupported features of say DX12.2 are extra eye candy that some games may not even have. And,

2) The extra performance cost of these features is often significant (similar to PhysX or Tessellation) so even if you DO support the features you might not choose to use them. And,

3) DX12 games won't be common for a while anyway. It's hard to say exactly, but while 2016 will see...

This is AMD, however for the most part he's probably correct:

"According to Hallock, the absence of the feature level 12_1 is no problem in principle. So the key for games features are all included in the feature level 11_1 and 12_0. In addition, most games would already geared to the console and thus hardly rely on 12_1."

Update:
I guess the GTX980Ti is DX12_1 not DX12_2.
