I tried searching for my answer, but most threads say they want to be under some low $ amount. While I don't want to spend money when I don't have to, I don't want the cheapest unless it is miraculously the best.

I want an external hard drive for:

1) Record 40-60 hours of gameplay using an ASUS Rog G751JY gaming laptop at 1080p using bandicam, fraps, dvtory, action, or shadowplay (not sure yet) per week.

2) Most gameplay will be deleted if it isn't good and/or edited and uploaded if it is, so the HDD will get a lot of use.

3) Use same HD on an iMac using Final Cut Pro for editing and processing and to store project libraries. Hoping to use the same HD to minimize copying content, but if it is better to have the FCP libraries on another drive I suppose I could get two drives.

4) Performance is #1 consideration, followed by quiet over noisy and smaller form factor over massive enclosures. Reliability is important. I expect to pay more than $100 but hopefully less than $500.

5) More capacity is always good, or maybe it'd be better to have two?

The black WD drive does look good but any suggested usb 3.0 drive enclosures that have good power supply, not noisy, an not bulky?
