is gigabyte r7 250 oc 2gb ddr5 good for gaming?

Depends, if you turn down all the eye candy of a game and run at a low resolution, then yes, it will play, but to to play and enjoy the experience, no.

I wouldn't go lower than a R9-270 for gaming and even then, I would go with an nVidia GTX 760 or better.

can i play with turning anti aliasing and other things i have 2gb version of that card. will it play on medium setting with 1024x768 resolution.

You can easily play any game on this card at 1280x720 and medium settings with some anti aliasing. However if you have not bought this card yet, then I would suggest going for atleast the new r7 360 which is a much faster card and costs around 100-110$
