Hotspot won't connect to servers and let me play online games

I got a verizon hotspot with straight talk so i can game but it doesn't fully load servers on CS source or gmod. also some games it wont connect or find servers at all. is there a fix for this?

You may need to port forward or something for those games. You cannot do that with just a hotspot alone.

Are you trying to connect directly through the hotspot or are you using it as the WAN connection for a router?

im connecting directly to the hotspot, any solution you can give me? or do i have to buy that usb router for this to work properly?

While you *may* be able to connect directly to the hotspot, if the games require any special ports be used you might have to resort to using a router to accomplish those things. I would contact Verizon support and see if you can get past the first layer of folks that know little to those that are knowledgeable and determine if you can do what is needed without adding a router.
