Hello. I seem to have a problem when playing games such as WoW. My computer randomly crashes and my monitor goes black and then restarts. I don't know what the source of this problem is, but it seems to be traced in the graphics department. (I tried removing my gpu drivers and traces using DDU in safe mode and installing an older version. Still didn't work)

Here is some useful info:
CPU: i7 4790k
GPU: Msi GTX 970 Gaming
Mobo: Msi Z97 gaming 7
Ram: 2x8Gb 1600Mhz

I'm beginning to believe some of these problems relate to the Windows Time Service getting into a Spike state. In my case the computer freezes on occasion and a soft reboot is required so the clock may not be restarting until a restart. The only solution I can see is moving to Windows 10 for my 8-month old motherboard since this would be a kernel issue.

Are you suggesting that I should install Windows 10?

I stress "beginning to believe". I suspected from your CPU that you were using Windows 7, but not sure if an SSD. I had this problem before but it is worse now so a better match would seem to be Windows 10. I can't install the Hotfix for the Management Engine. Your CPU fan is really low?

Yes my CPU fan is dynamic
And also, my gpu was fine in the beginning, but then it started getting this issue more & more often. Now it causes insta-Black screen whenever launching 3d applications.

CPUs do die but less often than motherboards. If you don't have another graphics card you might try a modest 3d title to use onboard graphics. I think that CPU provides. As a precaution I removed my new card from a 7 year old system for a Win10 build 10074.

had to ask about the power supply, to rule it out. Way too many people buy cheap 700w power supplies that are really 450 w units.

Check the connectors going to the video card and make sure they a fitting well and no discoloration on the connectors. Check both ends, where they plug into the video card and power supply.
If they are fine it points to a faulty video card.

Switched the GPU's PCI-E slot and the game actually worked for 5 minutes... until the inevitable crash.

I then decided to use the game's lowest settings available and voila... the game is working without any crashes. But I am not content.

1. Install Display Driver Uninstaller from guru3d here: http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

2. Download iCafe 344.47 here: http://www.nvidia.cn/object/win7-winvista-win8-64bit-344.47-iCafe-whql-driver-cn.html

2. Boot into safe mode
3. Start DDU and select Options on top-left
4. Enable the option ''Remove ''C:\nVidia'' Drivers folders' then close option screen
5. Select first option (Clean and restart)
6. Now you're into normal mode, install the iCafe 344.47 and select Advanced and do a clean install.
7. Restart your PC and you're done.

This is how I fixed the problem :D I guess I don't need to RMA my GPU anytime soon!
