Alright so, I just bought a new motherboard for "almost" a fresh new build, Only parts that am gonna re-use from my old rig is CPU and RAM.

But the question is, Will everything work in the NEW motherboard CPU wise?
Wont the CPU be creeped out about the new motherboards technology and sum other st00f as it is been used 4 years in the old motherboard.

this is the motherboard I am going to get around next week: http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z77%20Pro4/

I currently have: Intel i7-2600k, 3,4GHz inside a Pegatron Corporation 2AB5 motherboard.

I have already checked that ASrock z77 supported CPU's, and i7-2600k is on the list.

thanks for your time on answering.

Lucky for you a CPU is an inanimate object devoid of emotional baggage, it talks socket x, Mobo talks socket x, that's all they know, that's all they care.

So, no matter how "old" the cpu is or used, all it cares is that the other mobo uses the same sockets and same chipset to fit its liking?

Actually lemme fix 1 thing... Latest Intel chipsets (even thought they use same socket LGA 1155) they dont support the older generation i-series processors, so technically, even if the "Socket X" is same as "Mobos Socket X", the chipset of the motherboard might be different and therefore cant read the CPU.

But as I am pretty sure now, z77 Chipset supports the 2nd generation i7-2XXX series CPU's.

I should be fine.
