The idea came to me just now. Seeing as both hard drives and dvd drives are seeing lower use recently, will we see cases that are void of drive bays and 3.5 bays entirely? The ammount of space used for that area is huge, and for me personally I never use any of it these days... sure people like them for radiators and such.. but for most people they just take out the drives and strap some fans there. The plus on this design would be better airflow, and a more compact design. I'll add a picture as an example.

The spacing all cases uses is made for cost reduction. it's actually cheaper making the case you showed as is, then trying to create only a few slots for hds and blu-ray/dvd/cd drives.
The computer case made to save space is using a ITX case. Not something you would use for gaming.
