iTunes and Spotify goes on and off repeatedly. Youtube videos will load but will not play. When I switch back to speakers everything goes back to normal.

I'm also getting a lot of loud hissing and humming with the Schiit Fulla.

What does this mean? "2. Got hiss and hum? High-gain, high-powered tube amps aren’t the best choice for IEMs and highly sensitive headphones. Switch to low gain mode, if available.

3. Still have noise? Tube amps are going to be more variable in terms of noise than solid-state. Some tubes will be very quiet. Some won’t. That’s why we say, “If you’re looking for certainty, go solid-state.”

i cant say i'm terribly familiar with the schiit fulla. based on a review http://www.head-fi.org/t/756553/review-of-schiit-audio-fulla-usb-dongle-dac-amp-w-pics it seems like for the money its a nice, plug and play dac/amp with a bit better quality than fiio products.

as for hum, before assuming either #2 or #3 i'd test for it being a ground loop instead. there are ground loop isolators but using a powered usb hub will also work (the kind with an ac cord which plugs into the wall)..

it would help if you mention what headphones you are powering with this amp. i recall posting in your thread on headphones but forget which you ended up getting.

as for #2, they are talking about gain (volume knob on the amp itself). in some cases having it too high can cause noise (adjusting master volume and having low gain might fix this). however, it is also true that you might run into issues if you are trying to power easy to drive headphones with an amp stronger than they need. i'd check for a ground loop before this though.

as for #3 i do not believe the fulla is a tube amp so you can disregard. tube amps are analog so are more easily affected by EMI.

the harder part... why is itunes/spotify stuttering on audio and why will youtube not work..

a few things to check and respond with answers on

-try with no other usb devices connected. sometimes things like usb wifi sticks can really cause mayhem.
-try in different usb port. front, back and in 2.0 or 3.0.
-try with a powered usb hub (which should fix the hum hopefully as well)
-try with other programs such as wmp and a dvd player. same stuttering?
-get the newest motherboard usb drivers, audio drivers, video card drivers
-check cpu and ram %use in system monitor. it wouldnt hurt to post your system specs here too.

does the product work fine with another pc?

I"m using Sennheiser HD 598. #2 solution from the website worked. No more hissing and humming and no more stuttering Spotify as well as iTunes. Youtube is now playing. I also did change the USB 3.0 to 2.0. I don't know what fixed it. Probably because my Shiit Fulla volume was on max.

"Switch to low gain mode, if available." I don't have the slightest clue that it means to turn down the volume on the DAC/AMP.

This is my first pair of audiophile headphones and it sounds amazing. It's very clear and clean. I don't know what I"m talking about since I usually max out the bass with everything.

It would have been a drag if I were to return this although it's free to do so at Amazon. Thanks for your help.

When I maxed out the volume on the Schiit Fulla the humming and buzzing did return and it caused iTunes to stutter. Does this mean my Schiit Fulla is defective or does it just mean to not max the volume on it?

Otherwise it sounds really good. Only issue I have now is that there isn't enough power; I have the volume to 70 points on the Windows volume control.

The reason why I purchased the Shiit Fulla is because the motherboard Asus P8Z68 PRO/GEN 3 plays the HD 598 at extremely low levels. They say it has to do with Real Audio or something. Incompatibility or something I guess.
