Hello

I am trying to clean up all my lan cables I have stretching across the room.

Right now I have the pc in the living room with my main tv and PS3 and internet cable tv.

I am planning to put the pc in the hobby room which is located next to the living room bout 8 feet away.

The modem at this moment is connect to a wireless router which has lan cables for the pc, internet cable, and the PS3 connected to it.

My speed is 1Gbps.

I am thinking about buying the hi speed Asus wireless router and the hi speed wireless card for the pc. I would still need to run a lan cable to the internet cable box.

Or

I was thinking about buying the new hi speed PLA devices that are available. That way I can keep the speed of the internet service by keeping everything hardwired, but getting rid of the long stretches of cables because with the PLA set up I can have the PLA device plugged into the electrical outlet next to all of my items and run a short lan cable to them.

Which set up might be best?

Wired connections are the best option for really high speed and reliable connection. I would go hard wired. Consider running a separate wire for the PS4 vs the tvs so that games don't feel streaming lag from the tvs.
