New MSI GTX 970 not working on my system. The card is working though, as tested on another computer. I have a computer system that runs fine with my old gt 440.

I recently got this new card, but when i plug into my computer, It just gives me a black screen with the display switching between analog and HDMI. My keyboard does not respond and my computer just will not boot up or anything with the card plugged in. But if i take the card out the computer boots up fine without a display, as i hear the windows sound.

The card has been put in and out to ensure its fitted correctly, both 6 pin and 8pin I am sure have been put in correctly, but still nothing.
The card will run with the fans spinning, the LED light turning on too. The computer fans and everything will run like normal, I am not sure what the problem is. I even tried seating the card in the other video slot.

I updated my BIOS to 2601 from 2501 and still have this problem.

The specs are:
Asus m5a97 R2.0 MOBO
AMD FX8320 CPU
Corsair CX750M PSU
Crucial Ballistix Sport 4GBx2 RAM
Old GT 440 working fine.

make sure it clicks and make sure you have enough power. I made a similar mistake not giving it enough power. It requires two connections from the Power supply not 1. I have the same board and everything.

Okay sorry, that was an error, I meant 6 and 8 pin. Yes I am using a Corsair CX750M power supply. I tried another computer with the same type of power supply, and it was able to load up. The issue is that while everything will power on, the computer will not react, as it freezes and can't even load or display a BIOS. The keyboard and mouse won't do anything, while if I unplug the card they will work fine without any video card in the motherboard.

Do you mean two separate wires from the power supply? I have tried this too, but when I used 1 wire on a different computer with the same type of power supply, it booted up. Is something wrong with my motherboard?

I know exactly what your talking about I had the exact same issue and I thought I was dumb. there is the an adapter that came with it. You can use it on the 4 pin but just to prove to you in the 8pin put two 4 pin power adapters on it and I am telling you it will boot. It's starved for power.

Okay I tried what you suggested iknowreal, but it still didn't boot up. Using the supplied adapter. I've had the card for a week now, I am not the best at building computers, so I am not sure, but I feel that something is wrong with my motherboard, cpu or ram.

The thing is, that after re-seating and re-plugging it so many times, it booted up once with minimal resolution, only to never turn on again after I tried to restart.
