Hi everyone I am an idiot and have broken the top most pci slot on my motherboard.
I transferred my pc with the graphics card fixed in as a result I believe the slot has been damaged during transport, right now I'm using the other slot which is fine I'm not getting any graphical issues however my case is quite poor and the card r9 290 gigabyte runs at 94 degrees playing most games as it blows hot air straight back, I have since then bought a shinobi bitfenix mid tower which should be better for cooling and airflow.
Is it possible to repair the slot myself, I can't imagine it's recommended for a novice just want to know if its doable so that at some point I can get some practice in soldering and desoldering and if so where to start thanks and sorry for any spelling mistakes I'm typing this on an iPad
