Hey guys!

So I'm currently running a 4670K at 4.6 and a NB OC of 4.4 (Couldn't stabilize it any higher) and just got two EVGA 980Ti SC to run in SLI. How terrible will the CPU bottleneck be? I only use my PC for gaming and I feel like a CPU upgrade is not worth the money with the current CPU tech at the moment. Especially, having only made $800 for the SLI 780 ti cards and having to spend $500 to get the new 980ti cards.

The 780Ti cards just weren't capable of maxing out games at 1080 with max Anti-aliasing settings or DSR at 4K without dropping below 40FPS. I'd like to keep it 60 FPS "minimum".

Appreciate all your thoughts! Let me know if you want more info on my system!

Thanks guys!

Solution
There will be no bottleneck. Your GPU usage will max-out before the CPU usage. Hence, a bottleneck will not happen, as you will utilize the potential of the GPU's before you run out of CPU juice.

Project CARS is having my GPUs used only 50% on each of them and the CPU usage is only at 80% tops. The FPS remain below 40FPS in heavy rain conditions and the GPUs don't increase usage to attempt to bring it up to 60FPS (Vsync ON). There seems to be a low GPU usage happening worldwide with this game but I was told immediately that the CPU was bottlenecking the cardS...GTA V runs at 4K with everything on ultra with 60+ FPS and the CPU gets really close to 100% usage but the GPU usage definitely boosts up to about 90% when the FPS drop below 60. Once it reaches it, they settle again until another drop occurs.

I'm also trying to run Project CARS at 4K with everything ULTRA, except for AA and SMAA which stay OFF.

Here are a few images showing my PC usage with 29 opponents in heavy rain/fog conditions.
