So last night, I fired up a Heroes of the Storm game and then my screen went out and got a No Signal screen on my monitor. I then hard reset my PC and when restarting, my entire screen was red and distorted as it asked me if I wanted to boot my PC into Safe Mode or Start Windows Normally. I reseated my GPU and tried the other PCI slot and was still unsuccessful, so I plugged in my HDMI cable to the integrated graphics port and rolled back my NVIDIA drivers. After rebooting and plugging back into my GPU, it worked fine for a few hours and then the same thing happened. Occasionally, the card wouldn't even be detected and the only way to get display on my monitor was if I plugged it in through integrated graphics. I started an RMA with MSI so I have to send the card out tomorrow. However, this is where it gets interesting.

I went out and bought a GTX 660 (I got a good deal on it; $100 clearance at Best Buy because it was EOL for 6 months). I went home and installed it and now it wasn't even being detected. I swapped PCI slots and tried everything but my BIOS wasn't even detecting the card. Frustration ensued and I completely cleared the CMOS. Voila, GTX 660 is detected and working great.

Because I experienced issues with both cards, could it be possible that it's just my motherboard that's dying? I've never experienced the red screen of death, so I'm not sure if it's a known issue that throws the signals of a dying GPU. Here are images if it helps.

Possibly the mobo is having problems or the PSU. Have you got any other PCI-E cables you could try using or swapping around incase you've got a bad cable there. Your PSU may have come with a few extra. Checking integrated graphics works 100% and the 660 now works 100%.

I second that.
Also, check the PCI E connectors and see if there is anything blocking the connection of the GPU PCIE connector to the MOBO
