my current build is
CPU - AMD FX 9590
RAM - 8GB
MOBO- ASUS Sabretooth 990fx r2.0
Graphics Card - Saphire tri x r9 290
PSU - EVGA supernova 850w

Intend to wait until after the AMD 300 series has been out for a little while so that it drives down prices.

So my budget is roughly 500-700 dollars

My first idea was to get a r9295x2 and crossfire it with my current setup. Because its been dropping in price its currently (619 on newegg)

Im pretty sure my PSU wouldnt be able to handle that much power.

So my first question would be what PSU is recommended i prefer EVGA and this has no bearing on my total budget although under 250 would be appreciated.

Would this be a viable option or a wise one? if not any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Also i cant remember but is it unwise to pair an 8gb gpu with a 4gb gpu. i thought i heard that it limits the crossfire to the lower cards memory.

Wait 2-3 weeks. AMD is going to release their new Flagship graphics card. Some of the latest rumors are indicating that there will be 3 variations of this card, and if they do what I think they might be doing, its probably going to really shake things up on the top end cards.

The cards will be announced on Day 1 of the E3 gaming convention, June 16th, and the rumored availability date is June 24th.

The announcement should give us some better info on the card(s), but we may have to wait until June 24th to see benchmarks and reviews.

We do know that at Computex last week, an AMD VP was saying that this new AMD Fuji GPU would be the fastest GPU on the planet. We also know that it comes with 4 stacks of HBM (High Bandwidth Memory), which...

We do know that at Computex last week, an AMD VP was saying that this new AMD Fuji GPU would be the fastest GPU on the planet. We also know that it comes with 4 stacks of HBM (High Bandwidth Memory), which is literally on the GPU package. Each stack is 1GB. You can see the 4 stacks in this picture, that was taken of an AMD executive showing the press the new GPU.

Due to the memory being on the GPU package, and the massive bandwidth, the cards can be much smaller than previous cards. The bandwidth on this card is a full 4096 bits wide. It more than makes up for the fact that the memory runs much slower than GDDR5 did. Being slower and so close to the GPU, it uses less power than GDDR5.
