So I was comparing my overclock with my Core i7 930 to other people, and I noticed that the first guy got a multiplier of 29?!?! how is that possible, core i7 930 only has 21 multipliers. He/she has everything I have, how is he able to get 29 multipliers. I want 29 multipliers :c.

The the person results, its the first one he/she got a overclock of 5.2GHz http://valid.x86.fr/search/search.php?psn=496e74656c28522920436f726528544d292069372043505520202020202020202039333020204020322e383047487a&sort=freq

Edit: I also just updated my bios to his 1501 version, thinking that it might change my multipliers too, but nope it still only goes up to 22 :(.

I'm not sure how he managed to fake the CPU-Z validator, but the i7- 930 has no unlocked CPU clock multiplier. You can lower the multi, but not raise it. If you want aguide for OC'ing that chip, this may help: http://www.overclock.net/t/538439/guide-to-overclocking-the-core-i7-920-or-930-to-4-0ghz

There is also another guy who manage to get 24 multipliers, I myself am doing 22, and the CPU can only go to 21 apparently according to wikipedia. Could it be just some of the cpus just happen to have more multipliers than others? I read that OC guide for my overclock, I cant go any higher than 3.86Ghz with my current cooling. I still wish I had more multipliers lol, it be so much easier to overclock.

Do you understand what the CPU clock multiplier is? The PC works off a "base clock". The base clock is 133MHz. The CPU clock multiplier is the electronic circuit that increases the CPU clock by a factor of 21. (21 x 133 MHz = 2793 MHz). You don't acguire MORE multipliers, you INCREASE the multiplier.

Yea I understand that, but how am I able to increase my multiplier to 22, when the CPU multiplier can only go up to 21? Is that just luck?

I can only put the multiplier to 22, which i have it as, and the bus speed is at 175
