Hi, i am planning to clone or migrate all data in my HDD to a new SSD and then use the SSD as the only storage & boot drive for my "All in one desktop".

When i click on "my computer" i see there are 3 partitions in my HDD, a C drive, a D drive, and a Q drive. It sounds all my data is in the C drive. And the D drive shows it is empty however when i right click on properties it shows there is about 110 MB data on it, the Q drive is empty.

My question is when i clone or migrate data from my HDD to SSD do i give command to transfer all these 3 drives or only the C drive, or will the cloning/data migrating soft ware will take care of this itself ?

Thanks!

Cloning a hard disk, by definition, means making an identical copy of it on another physical hard disk - - that obviously means all the partitions are included.

If you want to exclude one or more partitions, create a disk image instead of cloning. Disk imaging allows you to select partitions before the image is created.

Thanks Phillip Corcoran, I really appreciate it, my concern is do i have to transfer all the above mentioned 3 drives to the ssd or is it enough to transfer just the c drive?
