Recently reinstalled my OS, and now I'm only getting 2GB of available memory instead of 4GB. When looking closer, it displays that the other 2GB is "hardware reserved". What can I do to resolve this issue?

Solution
"Look in MSCONFIG and see if Windows is limiting your DRAM. Go to START, and type MSCONFIG in the search box. ENTER > BOOT > ADVANCED >. Ensure the Max Memory box is unchecked." quote from the article

Also are this notebook/desktop pc?

edit: this is dumb question, but you installed w7 x64 right?

msconfig in the search box for windows vista and above or run for windows xp, ENTER > BOOT > ADVANCED >. make sure the Max Memory box is unchecked. this should solve the problem. if not are you using windows 32bit? consider upgrading to 64bit to have access to more memory.

It's was already unchecked. Yes, I'm running 64 bit on a built PC.
