I am planning on playing games at 1440p with the highest settings, I will be making videos and streaming in the future (or at least i'm planning to).
Also is there any cheaper cards that can play 1440p with the highest settings at 60fps?

Solution

212 EVO is a stellar performer on budget, will keep your i5 in check when you overclock it.

Corsair R500 case spec says:

Fan Mount Locations
Front: (x2) 120mm
Top: (x2) 120/140mm
Rear: (x1) 120/140mm...

If you are going to make videos and stream then i7. If only gaming and the odd stream/video making then i5. If you have the money then go i7.

Different games vary in requirements so your second question can't really be answered. The 980 Ti is going to be a really good card.

The i5 4690K is a gaming beast, can easily handle the GTX 980 Ti even on SLI. The performance difference in gaming between i5 and i7 is high negligible. Because of this no wonder that the i5 4690K is still the popular choice over i7.

With regard to 1440p gaming, the GTX 980 can do a fine job with all turned up high graphical fidelity. No need for 980 Ti. Save that extra $150, get this:

Update:

Coming to the point where you asked "Also is there any cheaper cards that can play 1440p with the highest settings at 60fps?"

Yes indeed there is a cheaper card that can easily handle the GTA V 60+ FPS maxed out @1440p without AA.

You can even go for GTX 970 SLI, if you want to, as its cost only $330 each. But for $660, I would rather suggest you to get single GTX 980 Ti than a GTX 970 SLI.

Cheers!

I'd much rather a 4690k with 980Ti than a 4790k with a 980. The Ti is quite a bit stronger and has 50% more VRAM. Games are using more and more VRAM, I know 1080p can use 3gb as I have hit this problem with my 780, a 4gb card doesn't seem to give you much headroom for future vram hungry games if you want the settings turned up to the max

I decided to stick with the 980 ti and went with the i5, I made a build around $1600, which is around my budget, will Cooler Master hyper 212 evo keep the i5 cool? and if I decide to eventually overclock it will it stay cool? Also, I decided to go with Corsair 500r case do you know what size of fans can be added where? i'm planning on also switching out the stock fans because the color doesn't fit in with my build.

(I tried to quote but it gave me a error saying no changes in response were made, or something like that)

Mid: (x2) 120mm

Update:

The only way is to repaint it. But I wouldn't recommend that, as it may make your warranty void. But shortly, MSI GTX 980 Ti Gaming series are going to hit the market. I would highly suggest you get that card. Read this - http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/more-details-on-the-msi-gtx-980-ti-gaming-6g-and-lightning.html

I think it's worth the wait.

Thanks, you're very helpful :) one last thing, is there a way to get rid of the green "Geforce GTX" on the card? i'd like it red or white but if it's not possible that's okay.
