Hi, i have a Psu in the value of 500w, i was wondering if the gtx960 im looking for fits my psu's energy available.

Unless you have a very heavily overclocked CPU, a good 500W PSU will work well. I'm powering an slightly overclocked i5-4690K + GTX960 from a low-class Corsair CX500 and it works great, drawing less than 250W when gaming.

Do you know what PSU you have?
If its some generic one, it could actually be a bit lacking since a lot of lower quality PSU's can't deliver what's written on them.
GTX 960 is not a big power consumer, but still, better safe than sorry.
