Hello I am buying a new cpu and a new mobo. I am going from an AMD to Intel. Since I have to download new drivers for the mobo. I have to get rid of the old AMD ones right? I was thinking I could just leave the old drivers on but I am worried that the old drivers would interfere with the new drivers.I was wondering is it safe to leave the old drivers on? If not I would have to reformat my Hard drive.I am also worried that my key for Windows 8 will not work when I reformat the Hard drive. So the question is will it still work or do I have to buy a new copy and doing this will I still be able to have my free copy of Windows 10 when it comes out.

Solution
It will most likely fail to activate. Just call up the number and tell them your PC crashed and you had to get a new motherboard (Don't say you made a whole new PC or moved it or anything like that. Just say your motherboard failed and you had to replace it) and they should clear things on their end and then let you activate it again.
When ever you upgrade motherboards always best to start windows fresh from scratch. Besides going from Intel to AMD or AMD to instal WILL Require a windows reinstall (Somehow one guy did it without needing to but i think he had his boot drive on a addin raid card which might allow you switch) but you will most likely have to start from scratch.

Actually I read the Microsoft Software License Term. It says this:

You may transfer the software to another computer that belongs to you. You may also transfer the software (together with the license) to a computer owned by someone else if a) you are the first licensed user of the software and b) the new user agrees to the terms of this agreement. To make that transfer, you must transfer the original media, the certificate of authenticity, the product key, and the proof of purchase directly to that other person, without retaining any copies of the software. You may use the backup copy we allow you to make or the media that the software came on to transfer the software. Every time you transfer the software to a new computer, you must remove the software from the prior computer.

Yea they say that but sometime they give people a hard time because sometimes people don't "Remove" the proper software from the previous PC. If they let you do it without issue by saying you built a new PC then great. If they give you a hard time, hang up, and just say you had to replace motherboard.

When Windows 10 comes out do you think that I can reformat my hard drive and go straight to windows 10 instead of installing windows 8 and then windows 10. I did that when I had windows 7 to 8. But will it work with windows 10?

I was thinking I could install all my parts andeverything without formating my hard drive first.Once I get everything in I would go to the option in windows that resets to factory new.this way I don't have to re-install windows with a DVD because it will automatically re-install windows for me.Would this idea work?

You mean the Recovery Partition? No that is a Image of windows FOR that PC. You can most certinaly try to just toss the drive over and let it start up and see if it does, but if it blue screens with a 0x0000007B then it won't work without reinstalling from scratch
