Crossfire VRAM Question

Hi, I know that is you sli two 2gb nvidia cards, you will still only have 2gb of vram

Now I saw some dude on YouTube with a Grand Theft Auto V gameplay with two 7950s and when he went to the game settings it showed he had 6gb vram and he wrote in the description each card was 3gb

so my question is, is vram combined when AMD cards are crossfire?

No. Crossfire uses AFR(Alternate Frame Rendering). Because of this, the cards must share VRAM

SLI or Crossfire does not matter. 3+3=3 or 2+2=2 it does not add up.
Each card must load all game data and textures into memory. So you do not get 3+3=6 or 2+2=4.

A software reporting glitch.
it happens.
Only believe about half of what you see on the internet.
I have a screenshot of folding where my processor is getting over a million points per day for folding. It is not even remotely possible.
I also have a screen shot of my video card getting 320,000 points in 3dmark, another impossibility.
Software reporting programs are often wrong.

I'd say it is a fake. Nothing there to indicate he is using SLI 7950's except how he titled it(did not watch whole video)

Did not think about the fake bios video cards you see on Ebay. Where they are selling a GTX660 with 384 bit bus and 1920 cuda cores.
Nvidia never made such a chip and the specs are way over a GTX660 specs. But you get a verified GPU-Z shot with all of the above information displayed.
All faked with a modded bios.
