Trying to install Kali Linux Distro, but it wont work properly with the usb I have. I have a Buffalo HD-PX320U2 External HDD, that I have partitioned 4 gigs out of to make a live cd of Kali Linux. I have a Hp 2000 windows 8.1 computer. I already set to legacy mode, already set usb booting to the top, already installed distro to usb using an older version of UnetBootin (556) so that i can see all devices on usb because the latest distro of UnetBootin couldnt find the partition I made....When booting it can find the external HDD, however! It shows a little smiley face in the top left, then says it cant find any OS to install or run. and it just says this FOREVER...no matter what i do. I cant figure this out, HELP PLEASE! Everything is up to date, as i just downloaded it right now!!!!!
Also, i have been googling solutions for four hours, to no avail, i even had the time to turn it into a VM, but then the WIFI router wouldnt show up...because its VM

I have figured it out. Needed to use EFI configuration so I fo unloaded the grub files and made the EFI/Boot folder. After such it was recognizable. Keep in ming for some reason I STILL needed legacy mode ON in BIOS settings
