About 3 Days ago I built my first PC and it's been working like a dream, practically my baby. However, today I was playing a video game and my mouse and keyboard kept freezing now and then. At first I figured it was the battery (they are both wirelessly connected to a USB 3.0 adapter, and the keyboard is solar powered) but when I changed it kept happening. It didn't seem like a big deal until later in the day (about 30 minutes ago) when I turned on the computer for the second time after the incidents, everything happened normally, except right before the Windows 8 Logo shows up, American Megatrends showed up and had a bunch of info. The first thing I noticed was the last sentence "NO Keyboard Detected". My keyboard and mouse didn't work. I plugged in my surround sound headset , also via USB 3.0 and it didn't work.
Everything loads up normally, for example, I only get the American Megatrends screen for 3 seconds and then Windows 8 boots up regularly, however I can't click or press anything to get me to the password bar.
Some specs that may or may not help:
CPU: AMD FX 8350
Mobo: Asus M5a99fx Pro R2.0
RAM: 8 GB G.Skill Ripjaws X Series
GPU: Sapphire Dual-X R9 280
I also now realize that when I first started the computer I loaded Windows 8 first and never got to BIO. Well my Dad did this part, but I'm pretty sure he didn't get to edit/change anything at the BIOS screen because we didn't get one (I'm 13 y/o)
I really need help ASAP! I'm new to computer building and quite upset at this misfortune. Thank you in advance!
