Which is better to upgrade in future: GPU or CPU?

I only have 500$ budget and I want to build from scratch. I am thinking of either buying a high end cpu and mid end gpu then upgrade the gpu (no sli) OR buy a mid end cpu and high end gpu then upgrade the cpu.

I am honestly thinking that sli is not right for me because I wont use many screens and it is kinda bad idea because I also need to upgrade psu (and possibly mobo).

What I think is that for now, it would be better if I buy mid end cpu and good gpu because upgrades in cpu are cheaper than gpu upgrades. What do you think?

Pardon me for any grammar or spelling errors and wrong forum category (just in case)

"buy a mid end cpu and high end gpu then upgrade the cpu." <---- This. GPU is the piece that affects the most your gaming performance, even a i3-4130 would be enough to get a good performance, just make sure you get 8GB of RAM, less than that will cause severe frame drops no matter how good your CPU+ GPU combo is.

You should keep in mind that most CPUs aren't upgradable.Say an I3 3250 can't be upgraded to an I7 7440K,because they use diffrent sizes of chipsets.I3 1150 I7 2011.So if you want to upgrade your cpu you will need to get a whole new motherboard entirely. So I suggest this: Get a High End CPU and get a Mid range gpu.You can easily upgrade the gpu later on.Oh and I could give you a list of parts for your pc if you whould like that.
