I am soon building this gaming machine, just wanted to gather some thoughts on it and if i should swap out any parts.

MoBo: ASUS maximus VII Hero
CPU: Intel Core i5 4690K
GPU: Gigabte GTX980 Ti
PSU: eVGA supernova 850w
Case: NZXT Noctis 450 (Replacing the stock fans with corsair air series SP120
RAM: 16GB DDR3
SSD 1: 250GB (for windows / important files)
SSD 2: 500GB (for games / other software)
CPU Cooler: Corsair h100i (i am replacing the stock fans with corsair air series SP120 performance edition)

I am also purchasing red sleeved cables, and some LED strips for the interior to enhance the overall look.

Solution
Im actually using the same CPU Cooler as you and with the stock fans it works great. Im running an AMD FX 8320 4.3Ghz and on idle im around 14c and under load about 23c. Its not loud or anything so im not having any of the problems that i have heard of. You might as well slap a regualr old 1TB HDD in there for music or whatever you want since they dont need to be ran at ultra speeds. Just a little more leeway space to play with. Sounds greeat though. Dont really see any drawback at all. Beast Card also

Yea, thats a good idea with the HDD, i might do that since HDD's arent that expensive. Thanks for your opinion

850W is overkill, which can cause it to be less efficient than it could be. If you plan on upgrading then ok but if not you may be able to shave a bit of money by getting a 650/700W instead. Other than that, awesome build!

I just know i ended up getting a 1000W just for that reason. A card like that will be able to play at 4k i believe. Try and get a monitor with a higher refresh rate than 60hz and a low refresh rate

4k wouldn't be future proofed and the technology isn't quite there yet I dont think.
I'd recommend a 1440p or an ultrawide 1440p like the LG 34UM95-P.

I currently own 3x 144hz gaming monitors that are 24" 1080p. They costed around $500 each.
