I want to spend my money more on a Palit GTX 970 4GB jetstream so I want to get a cheaper gaming motherboard without overclocking and I will also pair them with Kingston Hyper Fury X 1866mhz 4gb x 2 ram. Thanks in advance!

Solution
I mean if you don't want to overclock you don't need to buy a 4690K. This is an unlocked CPU and designed to be overclocked.

You can of course run it at stock speed, however you can also save money and buy y 4460 or 4590 and get almost identical perfoemance for a decent discount.

The fact you don't want to overclock should however not mean you need to spend less on a mobo. This is the base that all components sit on and good mobos definitely increase performance. Even if it is not always clearly noticeable, the features are also what you pay for. Connectivity (ports) and other things designed to make your experience better.

Consider Z97 chipset boards rather than cheaping out on H81 or something basic like that.

Since you don't care about OC and you only got 1 gpu then any H81 board will do just fine
but it comes down to what you need...for example sli support, some specific sound card or just a cheap but decent board.

Nice fast replies from you guys. The only reason I want an i5 4690k is that Ill get a Z97 motherboard in the future but not now. If I consider a cheap Z97 Motherboard now like the Asrock Z97 Pro 4, do you think that will do?
