Question about old processors - AMD Sempron vs Athlon

Which of these contain the better system specs, please?

Computer 1: AMD Athlon ™ II X2 240
Processor
2.81 GHz, 1.93 GB RAM

Computer 2:
AMD Sempron ™ Processor
LE-1200
2.10 GHz, 896 MB RAM

Athlon II x2 240 by far is a better CPU over the Sempron.

What is this going to be used for (just curious)?

I have 4 old computers lying around in the office and wanted to put some of them to use for basic web browsing, light MS office work and so on.

Okay sounds good. The Athlon should do pretty good for what your wanting to do. I'm assuming they would be using Windows XP and that you wouldn't be putting Windows 7 on them?

Yup, they all have Windows XP installed... no plans to upgrade, because I don't think they woudl run smoothly if I did

Yeah the system specs wouldn't play well with Vista/7, especially with low RAM amounts too.
