My WiFi's download speed is lower than my neighbors WiFi speed, but we have same internet plan.

Hi, I've recently avail a 8Mbps PLDT HOME FIBR which is PHP3500/month ($80/month). I was excited at first but after I fired up my downloads I noticed that it throttles to 300KBps which is not fair, at 8Mbps plan I should get 1MBps speed and the network policy here in my country I should get 60% of reliable speed. So I investigate, I ask my neighbors who has same internet plan as mine to use there WiFi to benchmark it, I noticed that some of my neighbors wifi throttles same as mine and there unaware, but my one neighbor has speed of 1MBps at same plan as mine. I called the support service many times but they won't show up, so any solutions to get rid of throttling my internet ?

I gather this is a speed limited 8mb/s plan. That speed limits to 1mbs download (and upload?)

What router has he got? You? How are you connected - wifi or ethernet cable? How far from the router?

What Speedtest does he get? You?

Yes I should get 1MBps download and 500KBps upload speed which is the peak

They got the older (I think) router than mine it has different design, but on router access point (192.168.1.1) we have same router which is AN5506-04-F and software version: RP2557(00.00) (which can be updated) but we have different hardware version, DZ-2. 134.285F2G (my neighbor) WKF2.134.285F2G (mine)

I connected through WiFi, near from the router

He get 975KBps down and 496KBps up and I get 310KBps down and 152KBps up

Hardwire directly into the router (i.e. don't use WiFi), & double-check your speeds again.

If it's still getting a much lower connection speed, then contact PLDT Tech Support, have them test the line & go from there.

If it's getting the same connection speed as your neighbor (or at least meeting their 60% guarantee), then it's an issue with the Wi-Fi signal, not the actual broadband connection. You can try fiddling with the wireless channel the router uses, try factory reseting the router to make sure there's not a problem there, & (if PDLT provided it), contact PDLT about having a replacement router sent to you.
