So, as the title says, I want to buy a new GPU and I'm wondering if my power supply would suffice for it. I am not very experienced with the output pins and such so below are the specs of it.

Here is my drain pipeline: http://www.rasurbo.com/RASURBO%202011%20eng/DLP551.html

I was thinking a 970 or a 960, I'm pretty sure the 960 can be ran by it as it hardly eats anything, my main question would be towards the 970. ALSO, by abstract, madness and lemonade, if it will even accept the 980 do share about it.

Cheers and looking forward for answers.

Hi - I wouldn't advise running a gtx 970 with it. Most 970's require two pcie connectors, that PSU
has one 6pin connector. Any decent quality 550 would have at least two. The OEM (HEC) is also
a mfg I wouldn't recommend.

To run a 970 you need a good quality 500-550w PSU with at least two pcie connectors.

I agree. The specs on that PSU indicate that it is an over-rated unit. Not a true 550W PSU. The single 6 pin connector also indicates that. That is more in line with a 400-450W PSU. If you want to move to that class of card, you will need to upgrade to a better quality 500W (or better) PSU.

I'm not sure how to interpret those specs. It seems to indicate that the PCIe has its own rail rated at 19A. As opposed to all +12V devices sharing the 37A total. Either way, it should handle the GTX 960.

I just downloaded the data sheet, but it appears to be for different PSus that you have. It does however indicate a 2 rail +12V system.
