Hi I would like to have some advice about which Asus Motherboard to choose for the Z97 chipset with Micro ATX form factor (Bitfenix Prodigy M Case). I should mention that I wont be overclocking any of my GPU (GTX 980), CPU (4790k) or Ram in the near future, and I will only be gaming on it at their stock speeds, although in a couple of years when games get more demanding, I would like to use the SLI function with only 2 GTX 980's. Also I dont want to spend the extra couple hundred bucks on functions that i wont be using as Overclocking. given those facts, I've been looking for my perfect fit Asus Mobo but I can't seem to see the difference between this 4 models or choose the right for me

-Gryphon Z97 (also i've seen an armored version, what is the dif between the non armormed? which is the purpose of the armor itself?

-Maximus VII Gene (Apparently this is the best asus one you can buy, and also the most expensive) but I'd like to know if some of the functions on this motherboard will be useful for my needs)

-H97M-Plus (I know that this one does not support overclocking, and there is no much price dif between the Z97M-Plus, Somehow I feel more attracted to the Z97M-Plus in case i would ever need the overclocking functions)

-Z97M-Plus (for its price tag, I'm thinking to go for it, although if i buy this one, I'd like to know which functions I will be missing with the Maximus Vii gene and the Gryphoon.

Anyways, all the advice will be much appreciated since this is my first build ;)

Go with the Asus H97M-Plus. It has good ratings and a good price. It doesn't have a lot of features that you don't need (Like features that help overclock easier). The other three motherboards are Z97, which are the go-to motherboards for overclocking these days.

Thanks, I've compared them and ultimately I've decided That I'll buy the Z97M-Plus beacuase I'm planning to use SLI in the future, and I read that you dont have SLi Compatibility with the H97M-Plus.
Im looking foward to build it Thanks!!
