For Speed and overall Processor performance long term...I7 with no SSD or i5 WITH SSD?

Hey all. So my friend is needing to decide on a laptop....and overall we've narrowed it down to 2 options.

One of them is:
ASUS Laptop X555LB-NS71 Intel Core i7 5500U (2.40GHz) 8GB Memory 1TB HDD NVIDIA GeForce 940M 15.6" Windows 8.1 64-Bit

My question being thus....For overall performance and speed....would it be better to go with the i7 with the regular HDD or the i5 with the SSD? I know SSD's speed are night and day difference...but havne't had enough i5vsi7 pc's to know the difference performance wise. and by performance i dont mean overclocking or hardcore gaming. Just overall :)

i5 with SSD, for overall speed and responsivness.

i7 for better processor performance, but with a HDD, your system will be bottlenecked by the speed of the drive, slower seek times and read speeds will make the booting much slower and opening software slower and this laptop with the i5 has a better GPU. My opinion is to take the i5 laptop because it can also do more in gaming and has an SSD which is the biggest booster, I got my first SSD a few months ago and it has made everything blazing fast. I7 brings hyper threading which is basically making one processor do two threads/two processes at once which can boost performance in rendering and general multi-tasking, but the i5 also has 4 cores and you should be more than happy with it...
