New laptop getting REALLY hot?

I just received this laptop a few days ago:

http://www.amazon.com/GL551JW-DS71-15-6-Inch-GeForce-Discrete-Graphics/dp/B00T7XRH2A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1433901896&sr=8-1&keywords=gl551jw-ds71

It is running REALLY hot on light gaming, and even when not gaming with multiple tabs open it still gets relatively hot. I am literally playing Oldschool Runescape with itunes open and a few internet tabs and my CPU and GPU temperatures are running mid 70s (degrees C) and close to 80C. Should I be worried, or is this normal for laptops? I am just concerned because my normal desktop computer has CPU temps in the mid 30s and 40s (degrees Celsius) and my GPU usually is around the mid 30s when doing the same exact thing as I am on this laptop.

Thanks all!

Solution
What about for general internet browsing, word documents, a tad bit of 3d modeling, etc? - 60C (at a guess)

I think your temps aren't to bad. at "close to 80C" I'd start to worry and look at raising fan speeds.

I'm not quite sure why this machine is doing this, have you checked that all the fans are functioning properly? When the laptop gets hot, is it because the CPU / GPU is under a heavy load? check this in task manager.

Right now, for some odd reason, it has cooled a bit. Can you give me a relative temperature that is considered average and safe that I should be looking for?

Idle it should run around 5-8 degrees more than room temperature, (28 ish depending on where you live) and on a max load it should be anywhere from 50-70 degrees depending on what you are doing

What about for general internet browsing, word documents, a tad bit of 3d modeling, etc? Right now I am using it for gaming as I currently don't have access to my desktop, but most of the time I use it for light stuff, mainly for school. My CPU load now is like 20%, and memory is at 34% ish. My temps for CPU and GPU are now in the 60s (Celsius). Is this an issue?

Thanks! By the way, when editing in Adobe Premiere, are the mid 70s (celsius) for both the CPU cores and the GPU acceptable? I have a heating pad, and I am just simply worried about damaging internal components; I don't know what the safe temperature limits are for my components nor what temperatures degrade the internal components.
