Hey guys!

I'm struggling in CS:GO with low fps. Not on all maps but some of them. On the new operation maps my fps sometimes goes under 70 fps when im spraying with a weapon etc. It happens especially when i shoot and in smokes etc. etc. very annoying. I'm guessing it's because of my CPU and/or motherboard but im not sure so i'm asking you. Or can my harddrive cause it? Cause when it's working (extracing big files etc) my PC gets super slow (ofc i dont extract files while playing tho lol). Does having 2 monitors effect fps/performence? I play with 1024x768 on lowest settings. I've played with Resource Monitor running while playing and CPU usage was around 35% only.

PC Specs:
MOBO: ASRock X58 Extreme3 (CPUSocket)
CPU: Intel Core i7 930 @ 2.80GHz
GPU: 2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 (ASUStek Computer Inc)
RAM: 6,00GB Triple-Channel DDR3 @ 535MHz (8-8-8-20)
HD: 1863GB Hitachi HDS722020ALA330 SCSI Disk Device (SATA)

Monitors:
BenQ XL2410T (1920x1080@120Hz)
SAMSUNG (1360x768@60Hz)

I would be extremely grateful to anybody who can diagnose the problem.

Solution
Those specs are fine and more than sufficient to play the game.

It is worth testing what happens if you dial it up to the highest res and highest settings. There is a distinct possibility this might lead to better performance.

If the settings are too low and the res is so light on the hardware, it can lead to bad allocation and the CPU (even at 35% workload) is doing more than it should be.

Also there is a chance the second screen is interfering and your game screen isn't using your GPU properly.

Try playing only on one screen on both high and low settings to see if that makes a difference.

So: Try one screen on high and low. Try both on high.

See if any of these combos works better.
