Switching from AMD to Intel (Advice Needed)

Hi I just built my computer with an fx-6300 and an r9 270x and my birthday is coming up so I was wondering about the different paths I could take in upgrading. Should I just stick with AMD and go with the fx 8350 until Christmas, upgrade the gpu to an r9 280x and get a new psu, or should I just switch to intel cpu's. If I should switch cpus can anyone reccommed a good i5 + mobo combo for under 250?

I would suggest staying with AMD at this point in time, maybe switch to intel in another year or so. I think the 8350 and the 280x will be a good upgrade.

Keep with AMD, You are going to have to buy a new mobo, and intel is going to be much more expensive, If I was you, i would buy the FX 8350 and a nice aftermarket cooler and your golden...

Thanks, I'm already buying a hyper evo 212 for the fx6300, but when I get the fx8350 is it ok to just take it off and switch?

When swapping out the heat sink you will need to clean the old thermal paste off the heat sink. You will also need to check and ensure they are compatible.

I've use ArctiClean in the past.
