MSI X99S SLI Plus LGA 2011-v3 Intel X99 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard Or ASUS MAXIMUS VII HERO LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard ? Or if you have a motherboard in mind that is good what is it? I am planning on using a Intel Core i7-4790K Devil’s Canyon Quad-Core 4.0GHz LGA 1150 BX80646I74790K Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 4600 , well I am just learning about computers today so how many gpu's do i need? I would like to play many games and mabey stream/record sometimes as well.

You should look at a single GPU solution, if you have a certain budget, feel free to let me know. Right now probably isn't the time to purchase a GPU as the new AMD lineup comes out in less than a week which means a whole new set of benchmarks and performance per dollar analysis charts. If prices remain similar to as they are however, something like an R9 290X or a GTX 970 are great for the money.

As for the question of the motherboard, you should get a Z97 board if you plan on overclocking, or an H97 board if you don't. I would look into a few motherboards, if you plan on streaming then the MSI Z97 Gaming 5 is going to be the best bet because it comes with a few couple months of XSplit, if you don't however then you may want to look...

What CPU are you planning on using, that's going to determine what motherboard you need. Also how many GPUs, do you want to stream games, other questions need to be answered. Most motherboards perform the same in terms of "gaming" but there are certain features that we can tailor to your needs.

I can list different H97 boards if you need, just not off the top of my head.
