Best practices for changing video cards?

Hello!

I'm planning to remove my Nvidia GT 240 and install an AMD Radeon R9 270X. Is this the correct sequence of actions?

0. Download AMD drivers.
1. Uninstall Nvidia drivers.
2. Shut down computer.
3. Remove GT 240 card.
4. Install R9 270X card.
5. Turn on computer, log in, etc.
6. Install AMD drivers.
7. Probably reboot or whatever.

Did I miss anything or get anything out of sequence?

Nah, just replace the video cards and then if needed, you can go to the AMD website to download drivers, but you most likely won't need to.

Do as your post. Not uninstalling your current driver is asking for trouble.

You did miss one step, making sure your PSU has enough watts for your new gpu

Your going from a nVidia card to an AMD card - and you just want to leave the old nVidia drivers in there? Do you know anything about PCs?
