i have given my windows pro 8.1 lapptop for dell service center for repair and my problem is hard drive damaged.They asked to say my product key for repair.I lost my product key and could not find it.How can i get my product key .Please help me

Where did you buy 8.1 ? You can find your product key on your computer or inside the Windows package—or in a confirmation e‑mail if you purchased and downloaded Windows online.

If the machine had its original operating system on it, Dell would not need to ask for the key. As suggested above, find the key you bought and if you didn't buy a genuine one, go to Microsoft's website and have your credit card handy.

The part about it not working for OEM systems in JQB45's post is relevant here and negates the need to go to that site. All software will give you is the generic Dell key from the BIOS and that's for the system they installed.
