PC Pre-mixed coolants

Hey guys and gals,
I'm familiar with the distilled water and either biocide or kill coil is best for a custom water loop. However, on pre-mixed coolants I have only ever heard people talking or showing pictures of the Feser coolants which I know are crap. The pearl stuff from mayhem i've read up on is also crap as it is a show coolant not for normal use. Are there any other pre-mixed coolants that are for normal use or are they all for show?

most pre mixed coolents are for show, but as i am not a expert on this it might be worth a look around, although in the meantime i would just use distelled water with colered tubing if you are looking for a similar effect

Yeah, I've been using a mayhem UV dye mixed in distilled water and I haven't seen any break down of the dye, just evaporation of the water over time. Which I just top it off to keep the consistency. I was hoping that if there is a decent pre-mixed coolant that I could go to a clear tubing and use the coolant, but I'm okay going with a colored tube and just distilled water again. I'm just getting tired of my black and yellow build at the moment. :)

Sorry that i cant be that helpful, but i am not a watercooling expert and cannot really make any suggestions based off of my mild excperinces with watercooling, :)

What were your temps and did you game or render a lot on the system with the coolant?

I ran it for a good 2 years before upgrading to a 2600k. Gamed on it every day and ran a lot of benchmarks as well. Had two 580's over clocked to 1000mhz. Temps on the cpu where in the mid to higher 70's and gpus never saw over 50.

How often did you maintenance or replace the fluid in any quantity? Also, did you have the pc on 24/7?

I've read about coolants doing that. Not so sure with dyes doing the same as I haven't had a red dye. I have the UV yellow/green from Mayhem currently.

The red dye will stain your compontes after use for a while, but it is not terrible and should not be a dealbraker for you if you choose to go down the pre mixed coolents path

Question still stands though. Are other pre-mixed coolants going to break down quickly or will it be as faalin put it where everyone has no idea what they're talking about and Feser, among others, will last forever? Sorry faalin, but you are the only one I've ever seen contradict what the people say. I'm not calling anyone a liar though, just saying that you had a very unusual experience with Feser coolant.

A few things, I ran the coolant for a few years, in that time I rebuild the loop 3 times, each time just draining the coolant into a sealable container but reusing it each time. So technically I ran the same coolant for 2 years.

Yes the red coolant stains the sh!t out of your stuff, when coolant lvls would drop in the res it would leave a line, also to this day if I use one of the rad's in another loop and just use distilled water it will still turn the loop a very light pink. Ive used both rad's out of the first red loop in a few different build and each time no matter what I still get a pink color to my water.

But like I said I ran my 950 24/7 (i never turn my computes off ether) @ 4.7ghz, for about 2 months straight i was running benchmarks on my 580's seeing how fast i could push them and testing different drivers. I had a very nice 5 booklet excel sheet of how hard i could push my gpus on what drivers, CPU MHz vs volts, and CPU block/multiplier to memory speeds.

If it wasn't for the staining of the parts i would have no issue running Feser again, since that build i only run distilled water and a silver kill coil with my latest build moving back to air.

Ok, so if you were going to use colored tubing and distilled water+kill coil what brand of tubing would you get? I currently have the UV yellow tubing from PrimoChill and when put next to three UV CCFLs in a Corsair 900D case it seems kind of dim. I've read that CCFLs are the best as LEDs can emit more purple into the case which isn't what I want. And I just saw some other tubing from XSPC and didn't know if that is the same or better in quality in both structure of the tubing as well as the UV reflection.

Ive only used 3 types of tubing. first that I use for every build is tygon 3603 super flexible and doesn't kink. second was primochill white, used it on a small build and was ok to work with. last was some black tubing I had gotten from one of our venders at work, sh!t was horrible and wont even name it. I always use 3/8 I.D. 5/8 O.D with barbs and clamps.
