Water cooling, do I need two radiators?

Hello all.

I am currently researching in prep for my first water cooling attempt. I want to water cool my GPU and CPU. I'll be getting a 420mm x 45 Radiator and I was wondering whether that will be enough to cool both my CPU and my GPU or if you think I will need an additional dual radiator, to cool them separately, and why. I'm a complete beginner so i'm just currently trying to get my head around all the logistics.

The general consensus is one 120mm rad for each component being cooled. Some higher end AMD graphics cards should have 240mm of rad but 480mm of rad should be enough for almost any (up to dual graphics card) system.

Quick question, since its a 420 rad do I need 140mm fans? how do I know what size fans I need for my rad?

A 420mm rad uses 3 x 140mm fans (sometimes the rad will come with matched fans)

I just read the Rads specs and it says it supports both 120 and 140 fans, will I get any significant performance differences between the two?

I'd go with 140mm's since they will cover the rad completely and will provided better airflow across the cooling fins
