Powerline vs WiFi?

I already have WiFi that gets speeds of about 16 mbps with no one else on, however when my brother plays his Xbox it goes down to 2 or 3 mbps download. Will Powerline help this at all for a gamer? It's more expensive than just buying a USB WiFi adapter which I was planning for my PC build.

No, a Powerline adapter won't help. Your problem is your Internet connection; when your brother uses his Xbox he is hogging most of the available bandwidth.

Both WiFi and Powerline adapters are much faster than your 16Mb/s Internet connection. As always, the weakest link determines your overall download speed.

D/L a wifi manager and limit your brother's bandwidth while using his Xbox. Just don't tell him why his speeds are now slower ; ).

Xbox live shouldn't be slowing it down at all, unless he's streaming from something like Netflix, don't know how anyone can say it's his internet because 16mbps is not a bad connection.
